As PawnShop kings, we are two brothers singing and playing American roots music. We moved from the South to the Southern California coast as kids and nothing has had a greater impact on our sound, which we call “the beach and the bayou,” than those two places. From all our years returning to the family farmland to the calming force of growing up in the waves of the Pacific ocean, the PawnShop kings sound grew out of the powerful American traditions of Memphis, Muscle Shoals, Bakersfield, and Los Angeles. Music has always connected us to people. It’s what it does best, and what we love best about it.
